A UMD legend has died. Joe Berini operated the time clock at UMD football games for 50 years but his time stopped on Saturday at the age of 89 in his Lakeside home. Berini was a long-time fan of Duluth sports. He worked at multiple junior and high schools in Duluth including Ordean and East as a teacher, counselor and coach.… Post the First Comment

Jamie Somrock and Heather Hughley have been best friends since kindergarten. To this day, they refer to each other for support, something they have been able to rely steadily on over the years. Local fitness instructor asks for more than just sweat

Jessica Rossing's job is to make people sweat. Last Thursday she made her clients sweat for a cause. She called it Evolve for Haiti, a play on the name of the studio she owns, Evolve Personal Fitness. Letter to the editor; Bride-to-be urges others to donate to Haitian victims

Leah Bogen is engaged to Will Nicholson. Both are UMD graduates -- Bogen in 2007 and Nicholson in 2002. Their generosity toward Haiti relief has sparked others to give but to a different cause. People have offered to donate to their wedding fund. The chancellor search committee begins their task

"We're looking for a highly motivated, talented individual to lead an institution of some magnitude with many challenges and opportunities," Vince Magnuson said, UMD's Vice Chancellor and co-chair of the Chancellor Search Committee. Campus recycling simplified

The UMD Sustainability Office has issued a new recycling system for students to use. New signage on all garbage and recycling bins has been issued in an attempt to simplify the process throughout campus. UMD wireless should be faster, according to ITSS

The speed of the Internet on campus should have doubled since winter break, according to a statement released by Information Technology Systems and Services (ITSS) Director, Linda Deneen.
