Rivalry renewed with plenty of controversy
UMD men's hockey went 1-1 in a competitive weekend series against the University of Minnesota last weekend at a sold-out Duluth Entertainment Convention Center. The Bulldogs opened up the series on Feb. 26 with a loss to the Gophers 2-3. The first period and the majority of the second started off slow for the Bulldogs with the only goal coming from the Gophers until the last four seconds of the second period when sophomore David Grun slid the puck past Gopher goalie Alex Kangas on a power play.… Post the First Comment

The UMD women's hockey team began their post season in winning style by sweeping the visiting University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux in the first round of Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) playoffs. Men lose 10th straight game going into playoffs

The UMD men's basketball team fell 90-98 to Bemidji State University last Wednesday in a thrilling match-up that concluded their regular season in Romano Gymnasium and added to their 10-game losing streak. Freshman Dylan Rodriguez kept the Bulldogs in the game during the first half, scoring 14 of his total 19 points, but they were still down by 11 to the Beavers at the half.… Post the First Comment
