The Zen of parking meters

It isn't often that we contemplate the mundane objects of our daily lives. The things that allow the gears of society to turn, but don't have a deliberate aesthetic function. Think of the garbage cans of the world. The parking meters. The pay phones.
Students learning to produce video in Chris Julin's Broadcast Journalism class were asked to look hard at these things with 60-second videos consisting of 15 different still shots of an assigned subject. No frills like pans or fade outs were allowed.
The effect is an artful meditation on the overlooked objects of everyday life. View some examples from the class below.
