Student banned from UMD housing arrested in Griggs

UMD student Darnell Small was arrested in Griggs A Jan. on 19 after being banned from university housing before winter break.
Sgt. Sean Huls, of university police, said they were first notified of the situation at 9 p.m. by a resident advisor, who had recognized the student.
"UMD police officers responded to Griggs A Section for a student who had been previously trespassed on UMD housing property," Huls said.
Small was ordered to stay off of UMD housing property after violating housing rules earlier in the school year, according to Huls.
Upon arrival, university police found the student to be in possession of a fake ID.
"He was arrested and taken to jail," Huls said.
