Artistic director for the event, Rebecca Katz Harwood, explained the name of the event. "Action/Reaction, as the idea of relationships - that something happens that leads to something else happening, hence Action/Reaction," said she said. "It expresses the idea that dances are all about something in addition to great movement."

Due to the fact that a few of the pieces deal with more mature ideas and subjects that may not be appropriate for younger children, the performance is recommended for ages 11 and over.

The concert will be held in the UMD Marshall Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. Feb 11 through 13 and again on Feb 14 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $6 for UMD students, $17 for adults, $13 for seniors/non-UMD students and $8 for children. Tickets can be purchased by calling (218)-726-8561 or by visiting www.tickets.umn.edu.

Those attending will experience what will definitely be a most engaging and stimulating performance that will draw viewers into an expressive world of dance theater that is sure to move and delight all audiences.
